...Josh and I met our handsome and healthy son, Gavin. What a blessing he has been! I can not believe a year has gone by. It seems just like yesterday that I was pregnant and ready to get this lil' guy out. He was a little stubborn (wonder where he gets that from!) and didn't come out the way we had hoped, but thankfully, the only thing that mattered was that he was a healthy boy. Gavin has brought so much joy to our lives, it's incredible.
These past 12 months, Josh and I have experienced so much about parenthood. More than I thought I would ever know. At first, we were scared, nervous, anxious, happy, excited,...you name it. But like they say, when you have a child, your mind and body just know what to do and parenthood becomes second nature.
I can remember the day we brought him home. Little Gavin, all of 8lbs. strapped in his carseat on his first car ride to what he will know as home. I know he is my first, but I couldn't have asked for a more happy baby. I believe he came out smiling instead of crying....okay, he did cry but inside, that boy was ready to conquer the world.
It's been a wonderful ride: watching Gavin grow, his first roll over, crawling, saying Dada when he was just 6 months to taking his first step and walking at 11 months.
I can't wait to see what this next year brings. Every stage is a new adventure and Josh and I couldn't be happier. Gavin has truely filled a place in our hearts that we never knew was empty.

I know they say you love all your children equally, but I have a feeling that there is something about that first child that truly holds a special place in your heart! There is nothing that compares to watching your child grow happy and healthy!
